Britney Spears' shaved head notwithstanding, not much really happened with the bubblegum princess of note last year. Well, at least anything that was conceived in a recording studio. Blackout had a handful of standouts but largely suffered from one interminable bassline that traveled from one song to the next with Britney's monotone (and autotoned) voice that sounded very much like she had checked out indefiniately.

It's been a big week for Britney fans. Several HQ tracks have popped up all over the blogs. The first, "Gimme More" has been making it's rounds with a robotic Ms. Spears moaning affirmation: "It's Britney, bitch." Touche.

The more hypnotic, more interesting "Your..." (which has also been circulating as "Your Heaven") is actually a smart direction in the vein of Kylie Minogue. If this isn't on the new album expected this fall, I hope at least something like it is.
